Misty Morning Mix: 6/16/11

This morning I woke up to cloudy skies and a light mist that surprised both me and the little one (my dog, not my child. well, sort of my child). My iTunes must’ve known the weather sitch, playing these songs, in this order, which I found to be so perfect. Enjoy.

{my favorite version – just Paul singing live}

Let’s hope the weather is nice tomorrow for a not-as-depressing playlist ;)

Good Tunes: Beirut – Elephant Gun

I’ve always known about Beirut and their ultra-folky sound, but it wasn’t until I heard the song below {thank you Pandora!} where it peaked my interest enough to research the rest of their music.  You’ll understand why with this song, it reminds me of the circus. Enjoy!

Happy to hear they’ve got another album on the way considering it’s been since 2007’s The Flying Club Cup. To hear the first single “East Harlem”, click here. {via pitchfork.com}

Good tunes: 5 Songs for Summer

Ahhhh, summatime. You know those songs that bring you back to a certain summer? Maybe you were in the midst of a summer fling or had a waitressing job that constantly played the same top 40 tracks over and over? Regardless, summer songs stick with you for life. Here’s a little snipet of my current summer playlist. Enjoy!

1) Wiz Khalifa – Roll Up

2) Lady Gaga – Americano

3) Chris Brown ft. Benny Benassi

4) Adele – Rolling in the Deep

5) Pitbull – Give Me Everything ft. Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Nayer

Good Tunes: Health – Disco2

Perfect album for cleaning and organizing your room, what I’m doing with my Saturday afternoon. With amazing luck at Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul, our house is starting to look like a home. So exciting. Stay tuned, shop reviews of these stores {and more} coming soon, along with pics of my pretty new things!!

For now, unwiiiind:

Oh, and thank you, Trevor Penna {the necessary album-giving cred}
